EID UL FITR

Eid ul-Fitr, also known as Eid al-Fitr or simply Eid, is a significant religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide.The festival begins with the sighting of the new moon, which signifies the start of the Islamic month of Shawwal.

Eid ul-Fitr is a time of joy and gratitude for Muslims. It is a day of celebration and thanksgiving to Allah for the strength and patience to observe the fasting during Ramadan. Muslims gather for special prayers at mosques or open prayer grounds, known as Eidgahs. These prayers, called the Eid prayer or Salat al-Eid, are offered in congregation and are followed by a sermon.

During Eid ul-Fitr, Muslims also engage in acts of charity by giving to the less fortunate, known as Zakat al-Fitr or Fitra, which is a mandatory charitable donation given before the Eid prayers. It is common for Muslims to wear new or clean clothes, visit family and friends, exchange gifts, and share festive meals together.
